Frequently Asked Question

Why is the Allegro V5 on-screen Virtual keyboard not appearing?
Last Updated 6 years ago

Windows Firewall sometimes blocks the virtual keyboard (vkeyboard) from launching.
If this is the case go to:
1. Computer
2. Local Drive C:
3. "Ariane" Folder
4. "Configuration" folder
5. Click on the configuration being used. If there are multiple configuration folders listed then refer to the name of the file and make sure it is for the particular property you are working with. If there are multiple configurations for the same property then refer to allegro setup for the configuration being used as it will have an asterisk next to configuration being used.
6. Then click the "vkeyboard" folder
7. scroll all the way to the bottom and select VKeyboardPlayer.exe
8. The firewall should now prompt for access
9. Click "Allow Access" and reboot the PC and test to make sure it now shows the virtual keyboard.

*Note: If accessing the device remotely via bomgar the virtual keyboard does not appear if using privacy screen. Please make sure to disable privacy screen and view normally to ensure the keyboard is appearing.
